Winners of these scholarships, grants and awards are announced at the triennial SAI Convention. All application postmark deadlines are March 15 of Convention years unless otherwise indicated. Applicants must be members in good financial standing with the Fraternity, and have paid National Dues.
Graduate Performance Awards
Prizes of $2,000 and $1,500 are offered to members of Sigma Alpha Iota for graduate study in the field of performance. Eight finalists may be chosen from taped auditions in Voice; Keyboard & Percussion; Strings; Winds and Brass. The final competition is held at the National Convention. Applications will be available in the Convention year.

Scholarships for Undergraduate Performance
Four $1,500 scholarships will be offered to undergraduate members of Sigma Alpha Iota for instrumentalists and vocal performance. Applicants must be returning to school in the fall as undergraduates. Scholarships will be awarded based on taped auditions in Voice; Keyboard & Percussion; Strings; Winds and Brass. Applications will be available in the Convention year.

- Kristin Dudra, soprano, Kappa Beta chapter, Indiana University, Pennsylvania, winner of the Blanche Z. Hoffman Memorial Award for Voice;
- Ashley Mendeke, flutist, Iota Theta chapter, University of North Texas, winner of the Mary Ann Starring Memorial Award for Woodwinds or Brass.
- There is no winner of the Mary Ann Starring Memorial Award for Piano or Percussion this triennial season.
SAI Strings Convention Encore Award
The SAI Strings Convention Encore Award is given to an SAI college or alumnae chapter for the most innovative and outstanding string project completed during the past Triennium. This award may not be used as a matching fund when applying for a Chapter Seed Money Grant – Strings. The chapter must be in good standing with the Fraternity. Application form.
