2010

PREMIERES

A Miscellany for Saxophone Quartet was introduced April 10, 2009, by Bill Perconti, Joy Atkin, Casey Emerson, and Ryan King, at the University of Idaho. Duo for cello and piano was first heard August 25 in a performance by James Wilson and Carsten Schmidt, Staunton (VA) Music Festival, Mary
Baldwin College.

PERFORMANCES

Four Bagatelles were presented April 27, 2008 by flutist Karin Kantenwein, clarinetist Adrienne Geffen, and bassoonist Rich Ramberg, Hollywood United Methodist Church. Don’t Let That Horse Eat That Violin was heard in a May 13, 2009 performance by soprano Elinor Amlen, bassoonist Clark Abrams, and violinist Stanley Hoffman, Mannes School of Music, New York; while Introduction, Five Poems & Interlude, was performed June 9 by soprano Jennifer Miller, pianist Robert Frankenberry, and bassist Andrew Kohn, Penn State University.

2009

PREMIERES

Saxophonist Bill Perconti presented the first performance of Line Drawings November 11, 2007, Lewis-Clark College, Lewiston, ID; Perconti also introduced Five Sketches for solo alto saxophone at Lewis-Clark, May 11, 2008.  Pour Vous, Three Pieces for Piano, was first heard November 17, 2007, in a performance by Charles Hulin, Chowan University, NC.  In 2008, soprano Lisa Edwards-Burr and pianist John Walter introduced i carry your heart with me(i carry it. Three Songs for Children’s Chorus and Piano was first heard May 4, by the Greater Richmond Children’s Choir directed by Hope Erb. Narrator Nora Byrd, soprano Edwards-Burr, clarinetist David Niethamer, cellist Neal Cary, and pianist Walter premiered The Jumblies August 10, Richmond, VA.

PERFORMANCES

Pianist David Shaffer-Gottschalk performed Six Studies for Piano, One Hand, Set I (Right), March 2, 2008, Virginia State University. Four Bagatelles for flute, clarinet and bassoon was heard April 27, 2008, performed by the ensemble Third Wheel, Hollywood (CA) United Methodist Church.

2008

Premieres

The Vermont Contemporary Music Ensemble introduced Four Bagatelles for flute, clarinet and bassoon October 6, 2006, in Montpelier; the work received a second performance October 7 by flutist Berta Frank, clarinetist Steven Limowski, and bassoonist R Elliott, at Saint Michael’s College, Colchester, VT. Soprano Anne O’Byrne and pianist Hope Amstrong Erb presented Vicissitudes: Five Songs for Voice & Piano, on October 28, George Mason University (VA). Line Drawing was first performed May 19, 2007, by alto saxophonist Bill Perconti; Scenes for the Ear for saxophone trio was heard the same day as performed by the Idaho Saxophone Trio; both performances took place at WashingtonState University. Introduction, Five Poems, Interludes, and Conclusion for voice, piano and contrabass, were first heard in a September 16 performance at the University of Pittsburgh, and on September 25 at the University of West Virginia, as performed by soprano Jennifer Miller, bassist Andrew Kohn, and pianist Gail Kusbir.

Performances

The New Jersey Symphony Bones presented Little Suite for Three Trombones was presented December 31, 2006, during Montclair First Night.
